Name of Product: Class 2 Sinch.2 Folding E-Bicycles
Hazard: Unintended acceleration of the motor and potentially unsafe conditions for the rider.
Remedy: Repair
Consumers should immediately stop using the Sinch.2 e-bikes and contact an Aventon authorized dealer to schedule a free software flash repair. Ride Aventon has contacted all known purchasers directly beginning in August 2023.

Units: About 2,300 (in addition, about 30 were sold in Canada)
Description: This voluntary recall Class 2 Sinch.2 electric bicycles. The folding, 500w e-bikes were sold in silver (quicksilver) and blue (sapphire.) The e-bike has two tires (front and rear) and foldable handlebars. The name “Aventon” is printed on the side of the downtube of the e-bike frame and “Sinch.2” is printed on the chain stay that runs to the rear of the bicycle connecting the rear wheel to the frame.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received six reports of the Sinch.2 e-bikes accelerating unexpectedly. No injuries have been reported.
Sold at: Bike dealers nationwide and online retailers including BestBuy.com and Eriksbikeshop.com from May 2023 through August 2023 for about $1,800.
